Drainage Work

Diane S. Long Beach, MS

With heavy rain, water seeps into the basement family room. I had gutters installed, but with the last flash flood, water still got into the basement. I put an extender on the downspout but I would like to see if a french drain in the backyard in the area where its getting into the basement might help. Please let me know what you think! Please note I am a new homeowner and I didnt know about this problem until the first flash flood happened. This is the second incident during heavy rain. The house was built in 1945. The water isnt coming from the wall, it is seeping in through the ground.
