How Much Does it Cost to Service Artificial Turf in Long Beach?

It has been reported that the grass used for landscaping purposes accounts for the majority of water consumption in every private household. Regular mowing, trimming, and blowing of lawns with the use of gas and electrically powered equipment contribute a lot to air pollution. Furthermore, cheaper inorganic fertilizers used to maintain the grass pollutes not only the soil but also contaminates the ground waters. Because of these issues, many towns and municipalities across the region are imposing limits on the size of the lawn per residential home in their respective areas. This made many homeowners use Long Beach artificial turf as an alternative. Artificial turf in Long Beach was first used in sports arenas where games typically played on grass are being held. As time went by and with the need for a greener landscape increase, artificial turf started to rise in popularity. This artificial grass will remain green all year round, regardless of the season. Artificial turf is significantly low in maintenance. It does not need watering or mowing, making it eco-friendly and cost-efficient in reducing water, gas, and electricity consumption.

For areas larger than 50 square meters, some manufacturers can give a discount and the price can go as low as $60 per square meter for a premium artificial turf. Although Long Beach artificial turf still requires some degree of maintenance, it is not as demanding as natural grass. You will only need to brush off its surface every now and then to remove leaves and twigs on the surface. You may also need to wash it from time to time. Initial Long Beach turf installation may cost higher, but with its long life and the money that you will save with maintenance and utility bills, consider it as an investment that will definitely pay off in the long run.

Long Beach County Artificial Turf FAQ

It is possible but is not really recommended. If an artificial turf is laid on top an existing lawn with grass, the grass will die and will result in an uneven surface. But if the surface is even, and a good drainage system is in place, it won't be a problem.
There is no special maintenance needed. All you have to do is to remove any twigs or leaves lying on its surface. You may also need to smoothen any visible infill. You can just use the normal rake used in gardens to accomplish these tasks.
Just to ensure safety, the barbecue should be raised above the turf and should be on top of a slab.

Drainage Work

Diane S. Long Beach, MS

With heavy rain, water seeps into the basement family room. I had gutters installed, but with the last flash flood, water still got into the basement. I put an extender on the downspout but I would like to see if a french drain in the backyard in the area where its getting into the basement might help. Please let me know what you think! Please note I am a new homeowner and I didnt know about this problem until the first flash flood happened. This is the second incident during heavy rain. The house was built in 1945. The water isnt coming from the wall, it is seeping in through the ground.
