How Much Does it Cost to Stain a Deck in Lebanon?

There are two primary benefits that you can get from deck staining Lebanon. The first one is that it can enhance the look of your wood deck and the second one is that it can help extend the life of the wood used in your deck. Decks can be exposed to extreme weather conditions and harmful elements. That is why it is important that you keep them protected by getting professional Lebanon deck staining services. While some homeowners tend to stain their decks on their own, a professionally applied stain is guaranteed to last longer. You have two options when you are planning a deck staining Lebanon project. You can choose either a water-based stain or an oil-based stain. A water-based stain is proven to be environment-friendly and easy to apply. Oil-based stain, on the other hand, can give a really smooth surface finish but is more expensive and can emit a foul odor. Deck staining Lebanon is also cost-effective. Some think that they have to stain their decks annually. However, a professional deck staining can last for two to three years or more if it is maintained and cleaned regularly.

Fair price breakdown

There are a few factors that can determine the cost of a deck staining Lebanon project. When trying to get an estimate, you need to take into consideration the labor costs of the deck contractor that you will hire, the stain that you will use and the size of your deck. Most homeowners tend to pay between $550 and $1,100 for a Lebanon deck staining project, depending on the size of the deck and the stain used. Stain can be bought at approximately $20 per gallon for low-grade stain and can go as high as $120 per gallon for high-grade stain. A gallon of stain can cover 200 to 300 square feet depending on the thickness of the application. So, a regular deck that has a size of 500 square feet will need approximately 2 gallons of stain. That can cost around $40 up to $240 depending on the grade of stain used. Other materials needed that can have an impact on the cost of your deck staining Lebanon project may include brushes and tapes that are around $10 to $20.

Before deck staining Lebanon, the contractor you hire might need to fix some damages on your deck. This can also affect the cost of the project. Labor cost may also vary depending on the size of the deck, your location, and how long the staining will take. Most contractors may charge $1 to $2 per square feet for low-end labor and around $2 to $3 per square feet on high-end labor. Reputable contractors that have all the necessary permits and licenses to operate may tend to charge higher than other individual professionals like handymen and carpenters.

We would like to get an awning for our deck. A retractable one is preferable if it wasn\'t cost-prohibitive. We are looking for advice, options and prices.

1) COMPOSITE DECKING: I realize many of the structural components cannot be composite. Most research states that any color composite decking fades to gray, so gray decking with screws (NOT nails) to start with is the best choice for us I think. That means non-composite parts of the deck will either be hidden, painted gray, or "clad" in composite decking material. Please include in any estimate the price to paint the deck with high heat tolerance gray paint for the non-composite parts OR the cost of cladding the parts with composite decking if this is not included in the base estimate. 2) SPIRAL STAIRCASE: I am not concerned about the specifics, only that the staircase is spiral, has composite material steps, and saves us room on the lower footprint. It should be in roughly the same place as the staircase is now with plenty of space to leave the hot tub where it currently sits. 3) CABLE RAIL SYSTEM: The cable rail setups look great and I want one of these rather than a traditional runner/post rail. The posts can be metal or composite or clad as above. I am, again, not worried about specifics, only that the deck has posts with a cable rail for the upper deck. 4) ARBOR: The deck should have an arbor style covering over the portion of it that includes the door into the kitchen. The slats should be oriented to block as much of the afternoon sun as possible. The specifics are not that important although using composites would be best. How much of the deck is covered is not critical but should run from one end of the deck to a point well past the door into the kitchen. I think this will come out to roughly one third of the deck.
