How Much Does it Cost to Service a Swamp Cooler in Lake Oswego?

A swamp cooler Lake Oswego is a cooling system that typically uses water evaporation to cool down a home. The idea is that when water changes its form from water to gas through evaporation, it absorbs the heat from the surroundings, leaving the temperature cold. A Lake Oswego swamp cooler has a lot of benefits to offer. First, it is proven to be energy-efficient because it only uses up to 75% electricity as compared to a standard air conditioning unit. Most swamp coolers today operate using 120-volt power which is far less than the regular air conditioner use. Second, swamp coolers are eco-friendly because they do not use refrigerants that emit greenhouse gasses. Third, if a swamp cooler Lake Oswego is damaged, you will find the repair cost is cheaper. The same goes for maintenance and cleaning. Fourth, a swamp cooler can improve the quality of air in a room because of the air filtering feature. Swamp coolers have moist pads that can effectively trap dust, dirt, and other allergens. Lastly, they do not need any ductwork system. Some swamp coolers can even be fitted in windows with very little installation efforts needed.

Fair price breakdown

Two major factors affect the cost of a swamp cooler Lake Oswego installation. That is the cooler size and the location of where it will be installed. The size of your home can add to the cost too. It is only logical to think that if you have a large home, you will need a larger Lake Oswego swamp cooler. The bigger the unit, the more expensive it will be. A 2,000 square foot home that has an 8-foot ceiling typically needs a swamp cooler that can produce around 480000 cubic feet. You will save a lot of money if you purchase a much smaller unit. However, buying a small swamp cooler can be pointless if it does not have the capacity to cool your home. It can be effective if you only want to cool down just a small portion or particular room in your home.

Lake Oswego County Swamp Cooler FAQ

There are many different swamp coolers to choose from. You can purchase window units that can fit your window, portable units that can be placed anywhere, ducted roof mount units to be placed on your roofs, and ground mounted units that are typically placed in basements or outdoors.
Determining the size of your swamp cooler will depend on the size of your home. The bigger the area to be cooled, the bigger the swamp cooler needed. Make sure to take this into consideration to ensure that you only purchase the right cooling system for your needs.
Like all other cooling systems, swamp coolers also need regular maintenance. Larger units are required to be generally maintained at the start of the cooling season and around the end of Fall depending on your location. It is important that you have all the necessary tools like screwdrivers and wrenches to be able to maintain your swamp cooler. Maintenance may require you to open up your unit, especially when applying oil to the motor.

Hello, I would like an estimate to follow up with the Ameren energy audit. You were one of companies recommended by Ameren

Ducts & Vents

Kasie R. Lake Oswego, OR

I am selling my home and the buyers have submitted a wish list with some HVAC work requested. The house was built in the 1940s. The HVAC was recently replaced (February 2014). However, there is no duct work on the second floor of this 2-story home. The house has both an unused chimney and closets where the duct work could be run. They would also like a few minor things corrected. Here is the wording from the contract: "HVAC--secure power supply to the house and cover exposed wiring; fix and repair ductwork in the crawl space, disconnected ducts and damaged insulation on ducts, check and repair low flow to the sunroom, and have ductwork run to both upstairs rooms to allow heating and cooling on the 2nd floor." I know this is a lot of details, and if you need to come out to assess the situation before giving an estimate that would be fine. I wanted to get this all in writing to you and then we could follow up with a phone call or email. Thank you for your time!
