I have a 26 year old 2 speed Lennox system with an intermittent problem, which I would like to describe a little bit and then ask a few questions. The ACCU is model HS14-411V-3P, nominal 3 ton unit. The compressor was replaced under warranty 21 years ago. The system has had a few problems and repairs over the years, but I am generally happy with it and would like to keep it going if possible and economically feasible. Current issue: Sometimes the indoor fan coil unit will run continuously for hours, while the ACCU will not come on. When this is occurring, I can hear a "click" at the ACCU, like it is trying to start, but doesn't. Five minutes or so later, I can hear the same "click", but no go. Sometimes moving the thermostat to a lower temperature setting will cause the ACCU to come on and start cooling. Sometimes the ACCU doesn't seem to know when to stop … with the thermostat set to maintain about 75 degrees, it may continue to run until the room temperature is 72 degrees or less, by which time my wife or I will manually move the thermostat to get it to stop running. Since this is an intermittent problem, I have been reluctant to call anyone out to look at, for fear it would be working properly at the time of the service visit. While I have never been a customer of yours, I have recently read some good reviews and recommendations about your company, and would like to ask what your service call charge is, if any, and your warranty policy. If you could please advise at your earliest convenience, I will probably want to set up an appointment for you to take a look at it.
