How Much Does it Cost to Clean an Air Duct in Pasadena?

An air duct is a component of the HVAC system that enables the unit to deliver and remove air. Thus, air ducts are considered to be a good method of ensuring that the quality of the air indoors is acceptable and that the thermal comfort will be met. Through time, air ducts accumulate dusts and dirt. This causes serious problems as these substances prevent the duct from doing its work and therefore compromise the quality of air in the house. Air duct cleaning in Pasadena is necessary to prevent this from happening. Pasadena air duct cleaning comes with many benefits aside from ensuring the quality of the air indoor. Keeping air ducts clean can prevent allergy attacks on people who are allergic to dust and dirt because air ducts help in cleaning the air. It is also reported that cleaning the air ducts can reduce the energy consumption by helping the HVAC system run smoothly and efficiently, requiring less energy consumption. It can also increase the life cycle of the HVAC.

Pasadena County Air Duct Cleaning FAQ

Typically, it is recommended that air ducts be cleaned after 8 to 10 years. However, a household where there are children, pets, family member with respiratory issues or compromised immune system needs to have their HVAC duct system cleaned more frequently.
As per The American Lung Association, 90% of people spend most of their time indoors. Having your HVAC's air duct cleaned frequently will remove the accumulated dust, debris such as cobwebs, and rodent droppings that normally block the airflow and decrease the efficiency of the system. Not only that, but a regular air duct cleaning is said to increase the quality of the indoor air.
A regular size home's air duct can take about 2 to 4 hours to clean and that is with at least two technicians present. Big homes and those with pets may take longer hours to clean.
Inside an air system, there are some major components included in a ductwork cleaning. The supply and return grills, the interior surface of the supply and return vent, and the HVAC system air handler. All of these components should be cleaned meticulously. If only a part of the system gets cleaned, there is a high possibility that the uncleaned components can contaminate the cleaned one, rendering the ductwork cleaning useless.

We have a HVAC unit installed several years. I am requesting a service call.

Wesley P. Towson, MD

I have a 26 year old 2 speed Lennox system with an intermittent problem, which I would like to describe a little bit and then ask a few questions. The ACCU is model HS14-411V-3P, nominal 3 ton unit. The compressor was replaced under warranty 21 years ago. The system has had a few problems and repairs over the years, but I am generally happy with it and would like to keep it going if possible and economically feasible. Current issue: Sometimes the indoor fan coil unit will run continuously for hours, while the ACCU will not come on. When this is occurring, I can hear a "click" at the ACCU, like it is trying to start, but doesn't. Five minutes or so later, I can hear the same "click", but no go. Sometimes moving the thermostat to a lower temperature setting will cause the ACCU to come on and start cooling. Sometimes the ACCU doesn't seem to know when to stop … with the thermostat set to maintain about 75 degrees, it may continue to run until the room temperature is 72 degrees or less, by which time my wife or I will manually move the thermostat to get it to stop running. Since this is an intermittent problem, I have been reluctant to call anyone out to look at, for fear it would be working properly at the time of the service visit. While I have never been a customer of yours, I have recently read some good reviews and recommendations about your company, and would like to ask what your service call charge is, if any, and your warranty policy. If you could please advise at your earliest convenience, I will probably want to set up an appointment for you to take a look at it.

Boiler/Radiator

Matt M. Baltimore, MD

This house is a duplex. It currently has two oil burners, both on oil. One system is very old and steam radiators. The other system is newer baseboards but want to convert to gas. We'd like to redo all off the HVAC to possibly get air conditioning and heat in the house. We need estimates on what we can do with both systems, and heating and cooling in the house in general.
