Fort Wayne County Pea Gravel FAQ

Pea gravel can best be used in paths, patios, driveways and playgrounds. They are also commonly used in landscaping and gardening projects. They are often overlooked as mulch mixtures that are used in plants, but they are not.
Maintaining a pea gravel is relatively easy. You will just have to rake the surface every now and then to keep it clean and tidy. It may sink into the soil after some time, so it is recommended to replenish at every 3 to 4 years or when you notice that they visibly sink to the ground.
Removing the snow might be challenging but can be easy when you get used to it. You will just have to shovel the snow on top of it while leaving a thin layer. Make sure that you do not disturb the gravel beneath the snow. When all that is left are the thin layers, you may now melt it with salt.

We are building a raised patio (about 2-3 ft. high) in our back yard and will need pea gravel to fill the 16x17 patio before laying a cement cap.

Sprinkler

Deya J. Fort Wayne, IN

Hello! We bought our house about six months ago and are looking to get a sprinkler system installed in our backyard – specifically for the lawn. It looks as though there are old sprinkler valves in the lawn already but we cant see any sprinkler heads or anything else that looks like a sprinkler system was preciously installed. The lawn is L-shaped and is about 25 feet across the long part and 18 feet across the widest part (very rough estimate). There is also a slope that wed like to install drip irrigation in eventually, but for now, Id like to see how much it might be to have a sprinkler system installed for the lawn. Thanks!
