Well Pumps

Zack B. Meriden, CT

While flushing the bleach out of the well (after shocking it) our well pump quit working. The breaker was on and the contacts of the pressure switch were closed. I think the pump may be tripping an overload due to the extended use. If I turn the breaker off for several hours and then turn it back on it seems to work ok until the pump has to run for an extended amount of time (washing clothes and dishwasher at same time or taking my shower while dishwasher or clothes washer is running). The control box for the pump has a date of 1986 so Im wondering if it is getting weak and needs replaced or if there may be another solution. We just bought this house so I dont know much about it.
