I have 6 smoke detectors in my home I would like to replace with new ones. They are wired/plugged into wires in the ceiling and somehow connected to one another, I guess. I cannot get up on a ladder and do it myself, though I have managed to take them all down. I need this to be a quick and inexpensive fix. My old detectors are almost 20 years old.
P.S. My next-door neighbor is also interested in having hers done, and we could combine the work if that makes a difference (she has 7).
