Just purchased house and discovered the AC is not working. System is round 15 years old and plan to replace soon. I was hoping we could limp through rest of this summer if able if price of repair would make sense to do so.

We have already had a service call from Carolina Air to diagnose the problem. We have a Carrier 4 ton system that is about 4 years old. The evaporator coil needs to be replaced and is still under warranty. We also have coolant leaking somewhere in the system (assuming the rusted evaporator coil is the culprit but the unit was frozen so we couldn't tell). We are hoping to either get a reasonable quote for the labor cost, or find a company that would order the replacement part since it is under warranty and just give it to us for a minimal fee.
